Q: Do I get to pick my own songs for my wedding video?

A: Absolutely! It’s a collaborative process. I’ll have you pick 8-12 of your favorite songs (combination of slow/romantic and upbeat/fun songs). I have a list of suggestions on a YouTube  playlist if you need ideas. I’ll then pick 3-5 songs from your list that fit best with your wedding day.

Q: Is a deposit required? How do I pay?

A: Yes, 50% of your package price is required to reserve your date/project. The other 50% is due upon completion and delivery of the final DVDs. Payments can be made by credit card, check, or cash.

Q: Do you meet with us prior to filming?

A: Yes, for both wedding videos and marketing videos I would actually prefer to meet with you prior to filming. For weddings this helps me to get to know you better as a couple and have a better feel of how I want to capture the day for you. For marketing materials this is crucial for brainstorming ideas and to capture the full picture of what you would like created.

Q: Do I need to schedule extra time into my wedding day schedule for video?

A: YES!! Though most of the video captured is simply of the day and in the moment, there are certain shots (just like photography) that are posed/staged. These special shots enhance the beauty of your video and really capture the love you have for one another. Please schedule at least 1 additional hour along side your photographer.

Q: Do I need to be aware of lighting?

A: It all depends. The more lighting that’s present at any of the locations will immensely increase the quality of the footage captured (color/sharpness/contrast/vibrancy). I have lighting equipment, but natural lighting from the sun is always best. I know however, that decorators and/or wedding coordinators set up low lighting since it creates a romantic look. My best advice is to opt for more lighting at your venues to capture the best video. Just let me know how you plan to have your different venues lit and I’ll adjust accordingly. I try to use minimal lighting equipment for weddings to avoid taking away from the natural look and feel of the day.
